The story of the Langhill Fairy is believed to be the last known sighting of a fairy in Scotland, an event that happened early in the 19th Century at a farm just south of Whithorn in Galloway. A local poet James F Cannon, later wrote a poem based on the legendary tale which has been reproduced in the book along with an introduction and a translation into English from Scots by local historian Gary Martin. The book features stunning illustrations by Whithorn artist Fran Raw.

Description

The Langhill Fairy is a 19th century poem by James F Cannon based on the story of what is believed to be the last sighting of a fairy in Scotland. The event happened at a small farm just south of Whithorn in the south of the Machars peninsula, south west Scotland. In this short book the poem has been translated by local historian and bookshop owner, Gary Martin. The book features a short introduction, the poem, notes on the translation and the translation into English. The Langhill Fairy has been beautifully illustrated by Whithorn artist Fran Raw who was the driving force behind the book.
