The Castle Cat

Lovely new book by Alasdair Hutton who has been the ‘Voice’ of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo for thirty years and is the author of The Tattoo Fox, a story that includes the character – the Castle Cat. This is the delightful tale of how a stray kitten becomes the Castle Cat. Venturing out of his shelter to find food the kitten follows a pair of soldiers who have bought delicious smelling fish and chips. But his journey takes an unexpected turn when the soldiers decide to adopt the poor hungry kitten and take him back to barracks – at Edinburgh Castle. Will he manage to find his place in the busy bustle of city life? The book features lovely illustrations by artist William Gorman who first collaborated with Alasdair on the picture book Mustard & Pepper. The story is ideal to share with wee ones or for early readers whilst the pictures are full of interesting features from the castle in Scotland’s capital city.

Please note that the book is available to pre-order. We are expecting copies by the end of August and they will be posted out straightaway.
