Borders to Booktown is the fourth adventure for Shona the Vet and her wee dog Jock. This time the helicopter flying vet begins her journey at St Abbs and flies across the Scottish Borders into Dumfries and Galloway, visiting St Abbs, Melrose, Moffat and Wigtown, Scotland’s National Booktown. Along the way she helps animals including a ram with an ear problem, a Dandie Dinmont who has had puppies and a Belted Galloway in a bog.

Written and illustrated by Catherine Stable who is a working vet in Scotland’s north east, all the information is factual so wee ones can learn while enjoying the adventure.

Don’t forget to have a look at Catherine’s three other Shona books with the series taking the helicopter flying vet from the Highlands and Islands, through Scotland’s central belt to a change of scene on the farm. The first book was picked up by the charity Future-vets Scotland who sent a copy to every primary school in the country to encourage young children to consider a career in veterinary practice.
