Scorching!

Well it’s definitely been bucket and spade weather here in south west Scotland for weeks now! And the current forecast doesn’t seem to be showing any prospect or rain for a week or so at least. Very hot days don’t seem to suit most bookshop customers who prefer to head for the coast rather than be indoors. It means that we have had some busy mornings but very quiet afternoons. Of course there’s always something to be done in a bookshop so stock gets counted, books sorted and put back in the right order. We’re the kind of bookshop that doesn’t mind staff reading if it’s very quiet and it’s too warm to focus on book titles. But hot weather like this is, of course, perfect for sitting in the garden in the shade and reading a good book.

So wherever you pick up a good novel and enjoy the weather.
