Wigtown Book Festival starts next week and although it’s a reduced event this year we’re still expecting there to be quite a buzz in the town. There’s certainly a buzz here in the shop as we will be formally launching two books during the 10 day festival. Alasdair Hutton and William Gorman will be presenting The Castle Cat during the children’s events – you can see them at noon on the 25th September, tickets available through the book festival website https://www.wigtownbookfestival.com/programme/event/428397102/ . And on the 30th at 2pm wearing our Second Sands Publishing hats we’ll be launching the full poetry collection Musclework, Alcohol and Blame by Des Dillon. Although we don’t sell the book in the shop – the content is not suitable for a children’s bookshop – you can buy the collection in our website shop and it’s currently on a pre launch offer price of £10.00. It will rising to its rrp of £12.99 in October.

Meanwhile in the Foggie Toddle Shop team member Lou will be unveiling her annual festival window which this year has the theme of blowing our own trumpet! We wanted to showcase the books we’ve published or have been published by some of the many writers in Wigtownshire. We’ll post pictures as soon as it’s done.
