Fanfare please….we are very excited to announce the launch of our first children’s picture book – Betty’s New Best Friend. The story and gloriously colourful illustrations have been created for the pre and early school age group. It follows Betty the Belted Galloway as she wanders away from her herd to see if she can find someone new to play with.
The story has been written by me, Jayne, the owner of Foggie Toddle Books working with artist and graphic designer Caroline Smith. I was first commissioned to write a story about Belted Galloway cattle when I worked with a small publisher called GC Books Ltd. Galloway artist Pauline James Paterson was asked to illustrate the book The Belties of Curleywee Farm. I went on to co found the publishing company Curly Tale Books, writing two further popular Beltie titles.
