Putting up the bunting for Indie bookshop week
It’s Independent Bookshop Week from 19th June to the 26th June and we’re excited to be taking part again this year. Last year we were still closed when the event went ahead so it’s extra special to have the door open to customers this time. The week is organised by the Booksellers Association and Books Are My Bag. to highlight the importance of bookshops on the high street, and the resilience and creativity of booksellers during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re asking customers to choose bookshops because they contribute to the local economy, create jobs, contribute to the community, and are generally run by people who have a real passion for books. And we pay our taxes!
For Indie Bookshop Week we’ll be giving away a copy of the picture book The Pointy Toed Pyjama Thief by Pauline James Paterson to every customer coming into the shop and we also have £5 book tokens for anyone spending over £20.
